Terms of Use
Effective September 28, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and NJYN Inc. of Toronto, Ontario, Canada (“Pencilbox”, “we”, “us”) for your use of the Pencilbox website and app. By creating an account or using Pencilbox, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Pencilbox
Pencilbox is for teachers, educators and other adults. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. Children should not create accounts or use Pencilbox directly.
2. Your account
Keep your password private and let us know right away at hello@pencilbox.club if you think someone else has used your account. You’re responsible for activity on your account.
3. Early access and future plans
Pencilbox is free during early access. Features may change as we improve it. We plan to introduce paid plans in the future. We’ll give you notice before any paid plan takes effect, and you’ll never be charged without first agreeing to it.
4. What you can do with your worksheets
You may print, copy and share worksheets you make with Pencilbox for teaching and learning, including with your students, their families and your colleagues, in print or digitally.
You may not sell or resell worksheets made with Pencilbox, or the pictures and artwork inside them, for example on teacher marketplaces. You may not extract Pencilbox pictures, fonts or designs to use on their own or in other products.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add to Pencilbox, such as your words, custom themes and uploaded pictures. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to run Pencilbox for you, including syncing it across your devices.
Only upload pictures you have the right to use. Don’t upload photos of students or enter student personal information into content that is saved to your account.
Sharing in the teacher library
When you share a worksheet or theme in the teacher library, you give other Pencilbox users permission to view, copy, change and use it for teaching, and you give us permission to display it in Pencilbox. Only share things you made or have the right to share. We may remove shared content that breaks these terms or that we think isn’t appropriate for a classroom, and you can remove your own shared content at any time.
6. Acceptable use
Don’t misuse Pencilbox. That includes trying to access other people’s accounts or data, interfering with the service, uploading anything illegal, harmful or infringing, or using automated tools to copy the service or its content.
7. Our content
Pencilbox, including its software, pictures, fonts, designs and name, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by law. Apart from the rights in these terms, no rights are transferred to you.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Pencilbox available and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. Keep copies of anything you can’t afford to lose. We may change, suspend or stop parts of Pencilbox, and we’ll give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
9. Disclaimer
Pencilbox is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we don’t make any warranties, including that worksheets will be suitable for a particular student, lesson or curriculum. You’re responsible for choosing materials that fit your students.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of Pencilbox. While Pencilbox is free, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to $100 CAD.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using Pencilbox at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@pencilbox.club. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Ontario.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date at the top and let you know before they take effect. If you keep using Pencilbox after that, you accept the new terms.
